Museum Hours for 2011:
The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum opens weekends starting Memorial day weekend (May 28th) Noon to 3:00 pm. For the first two weekends in June, the museum is open from noon to 3:00 pm.

Starting Monday June 13th until Labor Day (September 5th) the museum is open 7 days a week, 10:00 AM TO 4:00PM.

From Labor Day to October 9th the museum is open weekends, noon to 3:00 pm.


After October 9th, the museum closes until Spring, 2012, but do call us at (401) 423-3270 or e-mail us if you have a tour group you'd like to bring to the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum!

Beavertail may be reached via Rhode Island route 138 from the east or west side of Narragansett Bay. After crossing the Jamestown bridge (from North Kingstown) or the Newport Bridge (from Newport), follow the signs to Jamestown Center. Continue southward past Mackerel Cove Town Beach to Beavertail State Park at the tip of the island.

Beavertail Light Station Tower Openings, 2012

We will have a new schedule this Spring.

Openings are weather dependent; inclement weather, opening will be the next day

Some considerations for climbing the tower:
Climbers must be 4 ft. tall
Neither small children nor pets may be carried
Both hands must be free for climbing
Climbers must be in line by 2:30 pm
A five dollar ($5) donation is suggested for each adult climber
